Research in the area of Neuropathic Facial Pain and Trigeminal

 

Neuralgia

         
 

Because neuropathic facial pain, including trigeminal neuralgia, is considered a "rare disorder" it is particularly difficult to find adequate money for research.  As a result, TNA (Trigeminal Neuralgia Association) is working with other groups like NORD (National Organization of Rare Disorders) and NIDCR (National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research).  TNA continues to monitor the progress of pertinent research initiatives, and advocate for continued resources from the Federal government and private sector.

Trigeminal Neuralgia Patients sought for participation in Botox Study. 

If  you have classic Trigeminal Neuralgia and live in the New York area, you may be eligible to enroll in this research study to help your condition.  If you become a participant in the trial which begins in September, you will be provided study related medication and treatment at no cost to you.

Research Study: Personality and Pain


Researchers at the Jefferson Psychometric Lab of the University of Virginia are conducting a study on the relationship between personality and pain. This study will specifically investigate the role of personality in the perception of pain. If you are over the age of 18 and you have experienced physical pain in your life, please take a few minutes to reply to a brief survey. Participation is completely anonymous.
