I was struck with the excruciating pain of TNA last year, at the age of 81. It hit me in a rear bottom tooth and spread through my neck and head. The dentist x-rayed me and said I should see a doctor. My doctor discovered it was TN; and told me that it could get worse, could get better, and might go away. After months of extreme suffering, TN was expelled completely, and I didn't know why until I read Dr. Joseph Vaughan's article in your TNALERT. I had been taking calcium supplements on orders of my doctor - to protect my bone structure. My TN started about that time. After several months of using the vitamin, I developed pains in my arms and legs, and stopped taking it. Until I read the article in your magazine, I didn't understand what caused the TN. I firmly believe the calcium supplement was responsible. I haven't had any TN pain for over a year and am extremely grateful. Click here for response from TNA Director of Patient Support.
