Eileen Sosin , TN Patient

Her Personal Story

In 2001 I had dental work that left me with severe pain on my left side. I was told that I had developed neuralgia. (I guess that was a catch-all phrase for my nerves being effected and causing me pain).

After much research in 2003 I found a pain center whose physician has been giving me Speno blocks.  This is a non-invasive procedure where he dips long q-tips in 4% pontocaine (local anesthetic), puts one in each nostril for about 25 minutes. It seemed so simple, I didn't think too much of it when he started.

Also I had another problem that I gave up on, which was my mouth burning for over 10 years. I didn't even mention it, but this procedure has also resolved that problem too!!

I go once a month for the speno block, but we are going to try every other month, since my pain has been non-existent. It is wonderful to live life without my mouth burning and the side of my face killing me.

I was so depressed with pain for years. I hope someone can benefit from this information. I know living with pain is a hellish nightmare.
